CPSO Arrests Woman for Cruelty to a Juvenile

On April 26, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local elementary school after receiving a complaint from school officials regarding Syreeta B. Joubert, 31, 2115 2ndAvenue, Lake Charles, physical abusing a 10 year old family member who is a student at the school.

Deputies learned Joubert struck the victim several times with a studded belt, causing numerous lacerations on the victim’s buttocks.

When questioned by detectives, Joubert confirmed the allegations.  She was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 1 count of cruelty to a juvenile and released on a $1,500 bond set by Judge Robert Wyatt.
