CPSO Arrests Man For Cruelty To The Infirmed

            On June 4, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Elderly Services Division was contacted by the Elderly Protection Agency in reference to cruelty to the infirmed. 

            After further investigation it was learned that on March 4, William Brent Rodgers, 45, had pushed an elderly family member, age 76, on two separate occasions.  The victim stated on one occasion Rodgers pushed him into the bathroom wall causing minor injuries.  On another occasion Rodgers pushed him causing him to fall into the bathtub and hit his head.

           Rodgers was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of cruelty to the infirmed.

Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $150,000 and signed a stay-away order preventing Rodgers from having contact with the victim.

CPSO Detective Michael Primeaux is the lead investigator on this case.
