On June 18, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Sulphur nightclub in reference to a man, later identified as Kristian J. Gaudet, 36, 610 Post Oak Road, Sulphur, attempting to strike two victims with his car.
Upon arrival, deputies located Gaudet attempting to flee the scene and arrested him without incident.
During further investigation, deputies discovered Gaudet had been stalking the victim, an ex-acquaintance, for several days. On this occasion, Gaudet waited outside the nightclub and when the victims got into their car to leave, Gaudet drove towards their vehicle at a high rate of speed.
Gaudet was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault; and 1 count of stalking.
He has been released on a $30,000 bond set by Judge Michael Canaday.
CPSO Cpl. Travis Miller and Cpl. Travis Mier were the arresting deputies.
