On June 18, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Kristian J. Gaudet, 36, 610 Post Oak Road, Sulphur, after an investigation revealed he had been stalking an ex-acquaintance for several days and on this occasion Gaudet waited outside a Sulphur nightclub and when the victims got into their car to leave, Gaudet drove towards their vehicle at a high rate of speed. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault; and 1 count of stalking and released on a $30,000 bond set by Judge Michael Canaday.
Following his arrest, CPSO detectives continued their investigation and learned during the early morning hours of June 17, the same ex-acquaintance was leaving her place of employment with another woman and walking to their vehicle in the parking lot. Before the victims were able to reach the vehicle, they observed a vehicle driven by Gaudet coming towards them at a high rate of speed. Both victims advised detectives they had to turn around and run back towards the business to avoid being struck by Gaudet.
Gaudet was rearrested on June 26 and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with an addition 2 counts of aggravated assault; and 1 count of stalking.
Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $3,000.
CPSO Detective Gerald Thomas is the lead investigator on both cases.
