CPSO Arrests Man for Theft from Employer

On June 25, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a store on W. McNeese in Lake Charles regarding an employee stealing from the company.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the store manager who advised employee Brenden J. Bellard, 23, 217 W. Hebert Road, Lake Charles, had stolen over $6,500 by completing false return transactions at the customer service desk.

When questioned by detectives, Bellard confirmed he scanned items from the store and would then do a refund transaction on the item at which time he would keep the refund money and return the item back to the store.

Bellard was arrested on June 26 and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged theft over $1,500.  He has been released on a $1,000 bond set by Judge Wilford Carter.

CPSO Detective David Thompson is the lead investigator on this case.
