CPSO Arrests Man for 2nd Degree Battery

On August 18 at approximately 1:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Lake Charles home in reference to a battery.

During further investigation, deputies discovered during a verbal altercation between James L. Woods, 40, Romulus, Michigan, and the victim, Woods struck the victim numerous times in the face, knocking her unconscious and causing severe swelling and bruising.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for her injuries.

Woods was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correction Center and charged with 2nd degree battery.

Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $45,000.

CPSO Deputies Terry Faulk, Mike Naquin, Cpl. Chad Quall, and Sr. Cpl. Josh Donovan were the arresting deputies.
