On August 20, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Detective Sgt. Stuart Henderson conducted a stop on a car traveling eastbound on I-10 near Vinton for a traffic violation.
When Sgt. Henderson spoke with the driver, Aaron D. Dantzler, 21, Purvis, Mississippi, he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car.
During a subsequent search of the car, Sgt. Henderson recovered two luggage bags in the trunk of the car containing 35 pounds of marijuanawrapped in cellophane, with an estimated street value of $35,000.
Dantzler was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with possession of CDS I (marijuana) with intent to distribute; and driving under suspension.
His bond is still pending.
