On August 21, at approximately 11:00 a.m., detectives with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) received information regarding Jacoby S. Deville, 28, 1325 18thStreet, Lake Charles, arranging to make a methamphetamine transaction at a local fast food restaurant.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., Deville and three other men, one later identified as Derrick D. Stevens, 33, 2623 Lynn Street, Lake Charles, arrived at the restaurant parking lot and were quickly apprehended and arrested by C.A.T. Team detectives, along with the assistance of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Anti-Crime and Tactics (ACT) Team.
During a search for officer safety, detectives conducted a search of Deville’s vehicle and located approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine, 1 gram of marijuana, and 2 grams of crack cocaine. Detectives also executed a search warrant of Deville’s home and located 8 grams of crack cocaine.
Deville and Stevens were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and both charged with possession of CDS I (marijuana). Deville is also charged with possession of CDS II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute and was released on a $4,500 bond set by Judge Wilford Carter. Stevens is also charged with possession of CDS II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute and his bond is still pending.
The two other men who were inside the vehicle were charged with possession of marijuana and released on a misdemeanor summons.
